The Director of Financial Aid will manage and supervise all aspects of Financial Aid pertaining to the U. S. Department of Education loans, grants, and other funds for the College. The successful candidate will oversee the administration of all federal, state and institutional aid programs; ensure compliance with Federal Title IV and state regulations; implement the Department of Education initiatives at the College; analyze student applications for financial aid; and ensure timely packaging and awarding of financial aid in accordance with all applicable state and federal guidelines to accomplish enrollment goals. The Director will also develop written policies and procedures that affect the school's administration of Title IV programs and maintain the Financial Aid Policy and Procedures manual; ensure effective and accurate transmission of financial aid data and information to campus offices and external agencies or vendors; provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff members; work with the Vice President for Business and Finance to develop budget projections; maintain financial aid data to prepare the Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP), Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System IPEDS), internal reports, and other reporting requirements; and prepare the annual assessment of the financial aid strategic plan.
The successful candidate will have bachelor’s degree; a master's degree is preferred; a minimum of four years of progressive work experience in the field of student financial aid or in a related area. Must possess knowledge of federal and state guidelines related to awarding and distributing Title IV Funds; must be customer service oriented, able to work within deadlines, be proficient in the use of financial aid computer software applications and must have demonstrated organizational, planning, budgeting, and managerial skills.
