Transfer Counselor

Working Title: Transfer Counselor

Posting Information: This position reviews academic credentials of candidates for admission and renders transfer admission decisions; designs and implements marketing and recruitment strategies and travels to schools and communities within the region; develops and manages a major project related to the core mission of the office; and provides counseling, information and services to prospective students, groups, families, other counselors as needed via formal presentations, counseling sessions, phone, email and other avenues of communication. Other duties as assigned.

Activities and experience related to Admissions or Student Services, such as financial aid, advising and counseling; knowledge of community college admissions/advising operations; experience related to the development of articulation agreements; computer literacy, including web development, publication design, and report generation; ability to communicate effectively both in writing and in public speaking with all students, faculty, and administration; ability to interpret, explain and enforce university and state rules, regulations and policies as they relate to admission, residency, and articulation agreement development; ability to train staff regularly in areas related to this position; must have a valid NC drivers license; must be able to lift and/or move medium to heavy objects when setting up recruitment events.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications: One year of previous admissions experience is preferred.
