Resident Director

Working Title:

Posting Information: The Resident Director is a full-time professional staff member in the Department of Residential Living, responsible for providing overall management and leadership in residential building(s)/areas housing 300-750 residents each. Principal responsibilities include staff supervision and development, residential education, community development, crisis management, administration and building management, student discipline, hall council advising, summer operations, and other departmental/university-wide responsibilities. Because Resident Directors are the primary professional staff members available in the residence halls for student contact, spending evening and weekend time with students is required. Actual hours vary greatly, depending upon events, crisis, etc. Resident Directors are supervised by an Assistant Director for Residence Life.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Master's Degree in College Student Personnel, Education, Human Services, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in working with students in a residential environment; Experience in staff supervision and teambuilding
