Working Title: Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life
Posting Information: The Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) is a key position in the Division of Student Affairs. The Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life will serve as the primary advisor and oversees twenty three (23) fraternities and sororities, and three (3) governing councils (College Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council), involving over 700 students as well as the areas of Order of Omega and GAMMA. The Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life will report directly to the Associate Director for the University Center and Student Involvement and will also be a major contributor to the other areas within the Office of Leadership and Student Involvement, including Student Government Association, Student Organizations, and Leadership Programs and will oversee the general administration of the Fraternity and Sorority Life community at Western Carolina University.
The Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life must be a skilled professional who is capable of working both independently and as part of a professional staff team. The Associate Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life will oversee and coordinate all educational and development of the Greek community. The position will interact with numerous campus departments and community wide partners; collaborate with Residential Living to maintain standards for the Greek housing community; establish standards for organizations to meet in order to maintain campus recognition; and oversee leadership development programs, training, and assessment for all Greek organizations and their governing councils.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
3-4 years experience working with fraternity and sorority students in a university setting.
Knowledge of Inter/National fraternity and sorority systems, policies, and procedures.
A member of a nationally recognized Greek Organization associated with NPC, NPHC, NIC, FEA, or NALFO
Experience working with college student living-learning communities, student programming and activities, and in the classroom teaching experience.
Knowledge with working with Maxient student conduct services, Interactive Collegiate Solutions (ICS), and OrgSync.
