Posting Information: The Athletic Training Education Program in the School of Health Sciences at Western Carolina University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track assistant /associate professor position beginning August 2013.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students, active participation in research, advising and mentoring of students and participation in official activities of the School and University.

Qualifications for tenure-track appointment include: A terminal degree in Athletic Training or a related-field of study from an accredited institution, current BOC certification, eligibility for North Carolina licensure as an athletic trainer, previous teaching experience and a record of scholarship.
Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in athletic training clinical practice, as well as documented success of effective classroom and clinical instruction in athletic training and experience with the CAATE accreditation process. Additional medical credentials and professional certifications such as PT, EMT, CIE, ACI and/or ARC Instructor are preferred, but not required. Rank is commensurate with experience.
