Posting Information: WCU is a regional comprehensive university located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. One of 17 institutions of the University of North Carolina, WCU enrolls over 9,400 students to include over 1800 graduate students. The Department of Human Services, which resides in the College of Education and Allied Professions, houses seven graduate and two undergraduate programs.

The successful candidate will be expected to fully support the implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) and be significantly engaged with public schools in the region. The Department of Human Services at Western Carolina University (WCU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Counseling program. The prospective candidate will teach, supervise, and advise students in Master's degree clinical mental health and school counseling CACREP-accredited programs; coordinate field placement for clinical mental health students; provide university, public school, and community service; and conduct research activities. An emphasis is placed on evening and off-campus instruction.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: An earned doctorate (by time of appointment) in counselor education; evidence of, or potential for, expertise in master's-level teaching in CACREP core curriculum to include clinical supervision; experience in counseling settings; leadership and team skills; commitment to CACREP standards; evidence of, or promise for, scholarship. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications: A graduate of, or experience in, CACREP-accredited programs; expertise in college student services, school counseling, family, and/or addictions counseling.
