Working Title: Assistant Professor of Cognitive Psychology
Posting Information: Position begins August 1, 2014. This is a 9-month full-time tenure-track position.
The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in cognitive psychology, research methods and statistics. A Ph.D. in cognitive psychology is required at the time of appointment (ABD will be considered with evidence supporting realistic anticipation of completion by start date. The Ph.D. degree must be completed before the appointment begins). The successful candidate will be expected to fully support the implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) submitted by Western Carolina University to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 2007.

The successful candidate should have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in cognitive psychology, research methods and statistics. The candidate is expected to maintain an active program of scholarship and supervise undergraduate and graduate research, including master's theses. DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY:
The Department of Psychology has 16 full-time faculty members, over 400 undergraduate majors and approximately 35 full-time graduate students enrolled in Clinical, General-Experimental and School Psychology. Most of our 16 full-time faculty members have active research programs involving both undergraduate and graduate students. The majority of our graduate students are funded as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA), and every faculty member has at least one GTA.
