The Educational Opportunity Center of Westchester (Yonkers, NY) is seeking a Chief Examiner to administer the high school equivalency exam and perform related administrative tasks three evenings a week. The Chief Examiner is responsible for organizing and managing the testing process in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations; scheduling and setting up for the exams, processing applications and communicating effectively with test candidates and EOC staff orally and in writing sufficient to respond to their informational needs, taking into consideration the varied educational levels and backgrounds of those requiring information.
The general testing schedule is Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30 pm until 9:30 pm with administrative hours on Thursday evening from 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm.
A Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in the area of specialty from a nationally accredited university and a minimum of one year of experience in teaching, training, counseling or testing. The successful candidate must meet NYSED requirements for high school equivalency testing. The successful candidate must also be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, highly organized, able to meet deadlines, have knowledge of high school equivalency testing procedures, able to work with colleagues within the organization and with external agencies and have effective communication skills. $15.17 per hour. No benefits.
