West Virginia University is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to provide first level employee relations support to employees and management regarding human resources policies, procedures, and documentation. This position will serve as the initial point of advice, problem resolution, and facilitation in employee relations areas. The primary areas of responsibility for this position include providing advice and counsel, administration of human resources policies and procedures, communication of human resources issues to various clients, involvement in the grievance process and administration of the University’s performance management program.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, public administration, labor relations, business administration, law degree, psychology, counseling or related field. A minimum of two years of professional level human resources/employee relations or related work experience, equivalent combination of education, training, certifications and work experience, and an in depth working knowledge of human resources laws. Must have a detailed understanding of the human resource body of knowledge, professional certification is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
