Wells College seeks qualified and energetic candidates to join our student life division as the Director of Student Activities and Leadership.
Wells College is seeking a dynamic, collaborative student affairs professional who is interested in working in a supportive and engaging work environment as Director of Student Activities and Leadership (DSAL). Reporting to the Dean of Students, this position has primary responsibility for leadership and management of a comprehensive student activities program.
Using a student-centered approach, grounded in student development theory, the DSAL will make decisions regarding program design, campus life and leadership roles. The DSAL will assume leadership in Student Life and across campus by enhancing campus programming through partnerships with clubs, organizations and other areas of Academic and Student Life. Programming will focus on, and be created to, complement the student's academic endeavors in order to achieve a seamless learning environment. Demonstrated ability in coordinating programs with other college departments, assessment of student activities programs, managing a budget, assisting in institutional retention efforts and the cultivation of relationships with students, student organizations, faculty and administration is required.
Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills, knowledge of contract negotiations and group facilitation, budget preparation and dispute resolution, detail orientation, strong supervisory skills and computer literacy also required. The DSAL will also serve on the Dean of Students after hours on call rotation. Additional requirements include a master’s in College Student Personnel, Higher Education or related field and at least 1-3 years of Student Activities/Leadership experience.
