The Computer Science Department at Utah Valley University provides education to support the industry, and invites applicants for a tenure track position beginning in August 2014.

Summary of duties:
Teach students to understand and appreciate computer science and software engineering topics. Design courses and prepare instructional materials. Cultivate a student-centered learning environment, and help them succeed. Enhance learning effectiveness through engaged learning experiences with the local community. Assess teaching results and apply results to improve courses, curriculum, and teaching effectiveness.
Support department, university, and community through service such as committees and special projects. Fully support the university and program level accreditation efforts.
Engage in scholarly activities, including research and keeping current in the latest developments in the field.
Minimum Qualifications: -Requires an MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline plus 4 years teaching and professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Demonstrated strength in, and a passion for teaching.
-Ability to teach software engineering topics and general computer science topics, including theoretical and practical software development skills.
-Knowledge of and experience in practical software development (software engineering).
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
-Effective interpersonal, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
-Ability to motivate, engage, and evaluate students.
-Ability to deal with the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly growing and changing institution.
