The Assistant Director of Counseling oversees and supervises the Financial Aid Counseling area ensuring that all operations, processes, and deadlines are met, paperwork is completed, and the counselor services have scheduled coverage. Supervises and trains counselors with respect to federal financial aid regulations and university and department policies and procedures. Advises students and parents regarding the financial aid process. Researches information on available programs and procedures to determine eligibility and provide students and families options and alternatives for financing educational goals. Evaluates students' financial aid requests and makes award adjustments and calculations on financial aid files. Ensures that there is a high standard of accuracy and compliance in awarding aid to each student.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor degree in a directly related field and three years experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling seven years.
