Assistant Professor of Marine Chemistry
The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a full time, tenure-track position as assistant professor of marine chemistry in the Department of Marine Science.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct an active research program and develop courses for an interdisciplinary academic program for graduate and undergraduate students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to collaborative research and teaching.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimal Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in oceanography or a related field and have demonstrated field and laboratory research experience.
The successful candidate must complete a NASA background check to work at the Stennis Space Center.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
Starting Date: August 2013
Location: The position is based at the Stennis teaching/research site.
