Job Description The Director of Residence Life is responsible for the vision, leadership and administration of the staff, budgets, and programs of a comprehensive Residential Life operation housing approximately 7,000 students (undergraduate and graduate) in 28 residence halls and family graduate housing. The Director of Residence Life is responsible for ensuring that all programs and services are aligned with and supportive of the mission and strategic plans of the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support and the academic purposes of the University of South Carolina. The Director will ensure that experiential learning finds experssion in the activities and programs of Residential Life and will create and sustain an environment of innovation and creativity. The Director of Residence Life is a member of the University Housing executive leadership team and reports to the Executive Director of University Housing. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or a related field and 7 years experience in student services program area. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling and related field; Twelve or more years of experience in budget management, supervision, teaching and counseling; Familiarity with the residential curricular model; Work experience at a large institution.
