Fire Safety Officer III

Job Description The fire safety officer III will be responsible for maintaining the fire safety database by tracking procurement/chargeback transfers, life safety inspections, building fire protection system inspections, pre plans and other fire safety scheduled events. Will be responsible for scheduling and providing fire safety training to faculty, staff, students and contractors to include fire extinguisher training, emergency egress, area of refuge, shelter in place and identifying other related fire hazards/precautions. The FSO will assist with building fire inspections indentifying and documenting fire hazards and insuring that they are corrected. The FSO will respond to fire alarms and other perceived emergencies. The FSO will assist with fire drills in all USC buildings providing guidance on emergency egress. The FSO will work as fire watch for after hours USC special events and be on call for perceived emergencies 24/7. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and one (1) year related experience, or a high school diploma and five (5) years related experience. Preferred Qualifications Familiar with the University's accounting system. Experience with training in fire emergency procedures, the use and classification of fire extinguishers,and emergency egress. Must be proficient with typing and able to use Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.
