Job Description Develops and conducts training and provides assistance to juvenile justice and related legal professionals, including DJJ staff, juvenile prosecutors, and juvenile public defenders. Responsible for oversight of contracts and grants related to juvenile justice, including supervision of staff and oversight of project implementation. Develops printed and web-based resource materials. Minimum Qualifications REQUIRES law degree, membership in good standing in the South Carolina Bar, and at least 5 years relevant experience, including juvenile justice proceedings.
Requires thorough knowledge of statutory and case law relating to juvenile justice; thorough knowledge of family and circuit court procedures and rules in proceedings relating to juveniles; and familiarity with major policy issues affecting the prosecution and treatment of juveniles. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary, including public speaking. Preferred Qualifications Training and management or supervisory experience is preferred.
