Job Description:
Instructional and Media Technology Manager will report to the senior Director of Academic Technology and plays a central role in overseeing the implementation, upgrades and support of the university course management system (LMS), as well as video conferencing, media production and video production. With a broad range of technology experience, responsible for enhancing teaching and learning through high quality educational practices including effective use of technology and training. Oversee research, pilot, deployment and adoption of technologies and practices. The position will provide instructional guidance in development of activities for traditional, web based, or hybrid courses. Provide direction and vision to the successful deployment and integration of web or media based technologies in the classroom or online. Promote and incorporate emerging and relevant learning technology tools appropriate to pedagogy in instruction. Collaborate with staff on design services for the use of technology in the classroom; support for digital media initiatives.

Proficient in teaching and training with variety of software and learning technology tools and highly motivate, the incumbent will supervise instructional and media technology team. Supports existing technology projects and promote new learning technologies that enhance all aspects of teaching and learning. Create a responsive and high quality service to faculty and students and staff implementing new applications. Leading best practices in e-learning; mobile and emerging technologies. Advising and recommending instructional support, digital technologies and learning spaces solutions. Oversee university instructional media hardware and software collection; including oversight of the circulation, operation, and maintenance to ensure responsiveness and high quality service. The Manager of IMT provides governance and guidance with day to day operations, technology related events, or with long term planning. Fostering collaboration help advance academic, administrative, and curricular goals.

General guidance and in close collaboration with the Senior Director for Academic Technology Services. Supervise Instructional Support Analysts and Media Services Staff.


Qualifications:
Significant record of successful leadership, management, strategic planning related to the position.-


Education and Experience:
• Master’s degree in Educational and instructional Technology or related field and 5 years of experience required, including 5 years of management experience.
• Teaching experience in higher education highly desirable.
• Certification in LMS, Graphics and Media applications, and specialized training
• Proficiency in web and design, Podcasting and related web 2.0 technology
• Server Knowledge—web and media servers
- Flash Technology
- Apache Server Commands (.htaccess, basic knowledge: passwords, redirects)
- Linux and Unix file management
- Database management
- Web 2.0 and Social Networking


Management Experiences and Skills:
• An excellent communicator (verbal/written) and enthusiastic collaborator, and a proponent of teamwork environment.

• Possess clear vision for the role of technology and media support in higher education.
• Coordinates and manages budget related to Instructional and Media Technology services and projects.

Design and Technical Skills
• Proficiency in online instructional design theories and practices.
• Demonstrated experience integrating technology into the teaching/learning process.
• Experience in development and delivery of workshops.
• Competence developing instructional and innovative technology projects.
• Skilled to build training contents relevant to pedagogy.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of graphics, web, media and audiovisual technologies.
• Evaluate and assess effectiveness of teaching and learning technologies.
• Build and create matrix to assess new technology requests or projects (PM).
• Demonstrated current and innovative experiences with a broad range of audiovisual and computer technologies in learning and teaching.


Support Skills
• Ability to assess user needs and use consultative skills to provide support.
• Strong familiarity with both PC and Mac operating environment.
• Strong familiarity with Audio visual and Classroom Technologies.
• Ability to organize, categorize and prioritize workload effectively and efficiently, under minimal supervision.
• Evidence of excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to foster teamwork approach with staff on projects and with faculty development.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service and human relations.
