Using knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles assist with preparing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures for the University's consolidated financial statements. Provide comprehensive analyses of consolidated financial results. Participate in the preparation of year-end audit work papers. Review and evaluate University accounting policies and internal control procedures for efficiency, accuracy and compliance with GAAP and assist with business process documentation and improvements. Administer and maintain the University's fixed asset accounting system while adhering to the University's capitalization and federal guideline policies. A thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and fund accounting is expected.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and three years of professional accounting experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are required. Ability to maintain quality and efficiency under time constraints, while managing a multitude of equally critical job demands. Applicant must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications. Experience in higher education (preferably with an academic medical center) a plus.
