GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Office Receptionist for the 17 year Follow-up of Home Visiting Intervention will work under general direction and with latitude for prioritizing tasks, and will be responsible for both routine and non-routine duties including; greeting study participants, collating paperwork in preparation for interview sessions, answering telephones, scheduling and updating calendars with study participant appointments, database management and support, preparation for reports and schedules as required by management both on and off site, sorting mail, maintaining filing system and office supplies, photocopying, and providing maintenance of the childcare room and occasional childcare services. Additionally, he/she will exercise a level of judgment, sensitivity, and confidentiality commensurate with direct interaction with study participants and their family members, and with latitude for his/her judgment, will assess and anticipate demands of office and staff, providing appropriate support as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires high school education and 3-4 years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred, plus minimum two years related experience, including experience with database management, and work in areas related to the health and development of low income minority families, or experience working with urban youth and their families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task, to prioritize tasks, and to anticipate and support the needs of the project and the staff.
