Duties Work with clients to identify business processes and understand business needs to enhance current processes and provide solutions to business problems; identify and analyze gaps between current processes and the desired state; design new processes and plan the transition to new processes; participate in and/or facilitate client discussions to understand, define and document business situations and challenges; participate in and/or facilitate requirement workshops to identify high level system and process changes; balance client expectations with proposed project scope throughout the System Development Lifecycle; create clear and organized written specifications ensuring the technical development team understands requirements and the scope of the project. Work with development and quality assurance teams to develop testing criteria that ensures the solutions meet the client's business requirements; develop business requirements, functional designs, process maps, user test plans and training materials associated with business processes and technology solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of related experience, supporting moderately complex business processes and managing projects and leading teams or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to communicate and interact effectively with both technical and non-technical end users, process teams, peers and management; exceptional analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to break down large, complex tasks and organize them in their order of execution; strong planning and time management skills; self-motivated with the aptitude to learn quickly and comprehend university business and technical concepts; strong presentation skills; must have a broad technical understanding of principles of software architecture. It is not essential that the successful candidate have expertise in developing applications but should have a concrete idea of software and infrastructure and how technical components work. Must have diagramming skills with and familiarity with diagramming tools such as Visio. Must be able to work on more than one project simultaneously and have experience coaching and mentoring more junior staff. Prior experience with Financial and/or Research Systems highly preferred. Prior experience in higher education a big plus. This is a full time position with budgeted funding for two years. Extension of the position is contingent on continued funding.
