IT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Duties Reporting to the Executive Director of Administrative Information Technologies, provide leadership and operational management for the administrative information systems that support services to students, faculty and University staff; act as a client representative; provide leadership in planning, implementation and ongoing support of administrative systems for multiple clients, including but not limited to Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions and Student Records and Financial Systems; manage application development/support staff and develop innovative solutions related to student systems; plan, budget and estimate IT efforts; provide overall management of client budgets, identifying necessary skill sets and deploying the most appropriate resources for given tasks. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible management experience within a large-scale administrative computing environment, preferably in a decentralized academic environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing large-scale projects containing multi-tiered architecture, including large administrative systems, especially those related to student systems. Experience in managing application development/support staff; developing innovative solutions related to student systems; and in planning, budgeting and estimating IT efforts. Strong organizational, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage, motivate and create a work environment based on teamwork and to be innovative and collaborate effectively in a diverse work environment. Strong client focus with demonstrated ability to be proactive, identify opportunities and propose administrative system technology solutions to meet clients' needs. Detailed knowledge of all phases of application development methodologies. Experience with multiple technical environments including mainframe, Unix, web-based technologies and Oracle Databases is a strong plus.
