Duties Leads Wharton's Classroom Support group in daily activities develops long term planning and strategy and manages the classroom teaching materials operating and technology budgets. Wharton's public computing environment consists of over 60 classrooms, 57 group study rooms and 30 technology enabled conference rooms and the Classroom Support team provides direct and supporting assistance to over 20,000 academic events and 15,000 special events annually on the Wharton complex. Additionally, classroom support provides training for faculty, staff and students on installed AV equipment and manages the lending and training for portable gear. The director manages a staff of 4 full-time employees and 3rd party resources contracted for large engagements and extra capacity. The Classroom Support Director works with Academic Departmental IT representatives and the Office of the Dean, Office of the President and individual program offices to design and execute their non-academic events. The Director also works with peers in Classroom design, video production and core systems to provide the current highly available services as well as the road-map for future improvements to both products and workflows. Qualifications A Bachelors' degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in audio-visual support or design industries, Crestron Toolbox and Digital Media interface development, InfoComm certification, and expertise in one of the following is required: Audio Processing, Video Projection, Sound Infrastructure, Theatrical Lighting.
Preferred: Experience in Hotel or other high volume Hospitality Audio-Visual Support Environment, extra consideration given to management experience; Polycom and CISCO video conferencing call management, Higher Education industry experience desired.
