EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Duties Reporting to the Dean of the Wharton School, the Executive Director of Wharton Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of Wharton's internal and external communications strategies, global branding and identity, crisis management, online and print publications, social media, and media relations. Responsible for advising the Dean on initiatives to communicate the School's vision and activities.. Manages a staff of 13 marketing and communications professionals. Develops strong relationships with faculty, senior administrators and external constituencies. This is a high visibility position requiring creativity, initiative, diplomacy, excellent communications skills and the ability to represent Wharton and the Dean with the highest level of professionalism, both internally and globally. Qualifications A Master's Degree or more is required and 7 years to 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. A seasoned professional with experience and expertise in developing strategic marketing, public relations, communications and branding plans and programs for complex global organizations. Must have a demonstrated understanding of branding and multi-media. The successful candidate will be a skilled leader who has experience motivating, managing and supporting a diverse team of marketing and communications professionals. Must be an accomplished leader in a multidisciplinary, high volume environment who has the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously while anticipating future demands and opportunities. Demonstrated experience in building collaborative relationships in complex, decentralized institution. Ability to influence and inspire. Experienced visionary who has an understanding of the media world. Must have the ability to represent Wharton and the Dean with the highest level of professionalism, both internally and globally.
