Chief of Urology sought for nation's oldest hospital

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of urology with a focus on oncology and laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Responsibilities include coordination of clinical, administrative and teaching issues related to the practice of urology at PAH; surgical and non-surgical care of patients with general urological complaints; teaching of medical students and urology residents; and clinical and/or basic science research in a variety of urologic disciplines. The Chief will serve as site director for the urology residency program at Pennsylvania Hospital. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Urology or eligible for such certification.

The successful applicant will serve as Chief of Urology at Pennsylvania Hospital, the nation’s oldest hospital and a fully integrated member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Applicants will have demonstrated expertise in all areas of outpatient and inpatient urology. Demonstrated facility with laparoscopic and robotic surgery and continent urinary diversion will be a plus. Two-year fellowship training is a must, as is evidence of continuous scholarship.

The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
