Position Summary: The Statistician Psychometrician in the Biostatistics and Data Management Core of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center will analyze data (e.g., patient-reported data) from studies in cancer outcomes and behavioral research using different methods (e.g., item response theory, structural equation modeling, multi-level modeling). This position also will collaborate with investigators throughout the Cancer Center in the development of intervention and observational research projects related to the population and behavioral sciences and outcomes research. Deliverables include contributions to study design and protocols, data management and analysis, results interpretation, and manuscript generation.
Education Requirements: Masters required; doctorate preferred
Qualification and Experience: Qualifications include a masters or doctorate degree in Biostatistics, Quantitative Psychology, Psychometrics, Statistics, or a related field. Research experience in cancer outcomes, patient-reported outcomes, multi-level modeling, and or other social science and behavioral research is desirable. Programming ability with SAS and or R is required. Familiarity with other software packages such as SPSS, Stata, MPLUS LISREL AMOS, IRTPRO, and Excel Word PowerPoint is desired. Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) are required.
