Position Summary: This position provides primary technical architectural design and development for a NSF-funded infrastructure for sustaining collaborative community innovation in the hydrologic sciences. Emphasis is placed on implementation and software development lifecycle with additional responsibilities for informing the direction of software development teams and collaboration with outside agencies and project stakeholders.
Education Requirements: The minimum educational requirements are a Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience. At least five years of professional software design and development experience are required.
Qualification and Experience: Knowledge of software engineering, design and development methodologies and best practices. Experience in software development across multiple software development lifecycle phases. Hands on experience in client and server side web development, Java Script, Drupal, Java, and PHP. Experience with data architectures required. Experience with developing cross platform systems and solutions. Experience with design patterns and their application. Ability to bridge several disciplines, ability to work with fellow scientist and administrators, experience supervising development teams. Ability to work with distributed teams and external collaborators. Experience with HPC, visualization, and hydrologic information systems preferred.
