Position Summary:
The Senior Research Associate of the Economic Development group at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise (KI) will help build the Institute’s consultancy around Green Economy development, domestic and international economic development, innovation and entrepreneurship. The position is based in Chapel Hill, with occasional travel when necessary. The geographic focus of the work will emphasize both North Carolina and global opportunities.
Education Requirements:
Minimum PhD in Business, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy Economics, or a related field is required.
Qualification and Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 5 years professional experience in business, economics, the science or economics of energy. Excellent writing skills for both general and technical audiences are required. Practical knowledge of sustainable development and international development is also required. Experience in public speaking, communications, or marketing is highly desired. International work experience and a familiarity with North Carolina are preferred. Candidates with experience in public policy related to economic development, energy and the environment are preferred.
