Position Summary:
The Thurston Arthritis Research Center seeks a Research Associate to perform complex statistical analyses on biostatistics, bioinformatics, genetics, and epidemiology projects. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics with strong background in statistics and a minimum of four years’ post-doctoral experience in research in biostatistics, genetics and bioinformatics, exhibiting major contribution to publications, presentations, grant proposals and other written materials.

Qualification and Experience: Working knowledge of JAVA and Perl Strong data analysis skills in R and SAS Familiarity with LINUX system Demonstrated experience analyzing human genetics data (e.g. NGS, CNV, SNP genotypes, GWAS, Pathway analysis). Proficiency with statistical genetic tools (e.g. PLINK, BWA, MACH, EIGENSOFT ). Experience developing software applications or workflow automation Scientific publications and presentations that demonstrate human genetic analysis experience
