Position Summary: The Mission of the Regional Center for Neurosensory Disorders (RCNSD) is to generate new knowledge that impacts the understanding of the pathophysiological processes underlying persistent pain conditions and related sensory disorders. The RCNSD is sanctioned by several units within UNC-Chapel Hill including the Schools of Dentistry and Medicine, UNC-HCS and NC TraCS. A goal of this program is to translate new discoveries into clinical practices and procedures that improve the ability to diagnose and treat patients experiencing chronic pain conditions and related sensory disorders. The program's activities are conducted in the context of a large multidisciplinary environment and has a primary focus on genetic, environmental, biological and psychological risk factors or determinates that contribute to the onset and maintenance of chronic pain conditions and related sensory disorders. The RCNSD Program Manager is responsible for independently managing the development and maintenance of research activities in the RCNSD. Duties include, but are not limited to: operationalizing research protocols, managing research programs, managing budgets and expenditures, and managing RCNSD initiatives.
Education Requirements: A minimum of a Master's degree in a health-related science discipline or directly-related equivalent experience is required.
Qualification and Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working in a multidisciplinary research environment with a history of working with a multidisciplinary team in grant development, managing research operations and compliance, assisting with publication of research results is required. Certification by a recognized, accredited clinical research association such as ACRP, SOCRA, etc. is preferred.
