Position Summary: The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist with a special interest in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This may be primarily a clinical and/or a research position with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. The candidate would create a pediatric IBS center. There would also be close collaboration with the adult GI Center for Functional GI & Motility Disorders Diseases. UNC has an excellent reputation in adult IBS with many research efforts ongoing that include pediatric patients. Research oriented faculty would have access to the NIH funded Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease (CGIBD). The candidate would need to coordinate ancillary support services for this complex patient group. The candidate should be expert in evaluating and treating IBS and/or a desire for additional training in this area, as well as a desire to build the program. Appointment will be as an Assistant, Associate or full Professor.
