Position Summary: 2 OPEN RANK FACULTY POSITIONS. Establishing two faculty positions for leaders of a translational research program. One will be based primarily in critical care medicine. This position will lead a clinical or translational research program in some aspect of lung disease seen in the ICU, such as ALI/ARDS, VAP, other pneumonias or infectious lung disease. The second position would lead a clinical and translational research program in COPD or other inflammatory/immune lung disease. The goals are to continue development of these research programs in the individual's area of expertise, to build strong multi-disciplinary ICU and COPD translational programs that includes both new and already present investigators and resources, and to facilitate development of resources such as phenotyping databases and tissue banks. Rank and track dependent upon qualifications and experience of the applicants. Have a record of excellence in research as demonstrated through publications and the ability to obtain extramural grant research.
Education Requirements: M.D. degree. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, and Pulmonary Disease and/or Critical Care Medicine.
Qualification and Experience: Applicants must have appropriate research and teaching experience and completed Fellowship training in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.
