Department: Exercise & Sport Science
Position Summary: Sport Administration: The Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Lecturer in Sport Administration to teach in at least two of the following areas: sport marketing, facility and event management, sport administration, sport economics, sport finance, or sport law. Other responsibilities will include advising undergraduate students in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science, participating in departmental and university service and governance functions, and working with the College of Arts and Sciences orientation programs during summer sessions. This is a 12-month appointment with 1/3 of the appointment released to coordinate departmental advising. Proposed start date: January 1, 2014 or July 1, 2014. Salary is competitive. The undergraduate specialization in sport administration is growing rapidly and currently enrolls approximately 200 students. The graduate sport administration specialization is focused on the preparation of collegiate athletics administrators and operates in close association with the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Athletics. Education Requirements: Qualified candidates will have an earned doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, JD; ABD considered) in sport administration or related discipline.
Qualification and Experience: Experience in athletics administration is desirable and teaching experience at the collegiate level is required.
