Department: Operative Dentistry
Position Summary: The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time, open rank, clinical track faculty position in either the Department of Operative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, or Dental Ecology. We are seeking an outstanding generalist who will serve as teacher, mentor, and administrator in the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) student general dentistry group practice program. Responsibilities also include dental scholarship and participation in an active intramural faculty practice.
Education Requirements: A Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), or equivalent degree is required.
Qualification and Experience: Requirements include: a Dental License or eligibility for a North Carolina Dental Instructor license; a minimum of five years of experience in a general dentistry practice; and didactic teaching experience in an academic, residency, or continuing education setting. A treatment philosophy placing emphasis on prevention, caries management, and minimally invasive dentistry is required. Completion of an Advanced Education in General Dentistry, General Practice Residency, or equivalent residency program is preferred.
