Position Summary:
The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment is charged with supporting the individuals and groups who make policies and decisions affecting the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by supplying data, preparing statistical reports, conducting policy analyses, coordinating assessment evaluation activities, and facilitating planning efforts. Within this office, the Director of External Reporting plays a critical role in managing the data collection and reporting activities related to the University s accountability, regulatory, compliance, and other public information obligations. Specifically, the position is responsible for overseeing the preparation and submission of accurate and timely data files and reports requested by UNC General Administration, state and federal agencies, accrediting agencies, media organizations, and other external bodies.
Education Requirements:
A master’s degree or higher preferred; bachelor’s degree is required and will be considered with extensive experience in institutional research.
Qualification and Experience:
At least five years of experience in data management and reporting in higher education organizations. Strong SAS programming skills and ability to extract and merge data from various sources, including legacy, production, and data warehouse environments. Experience coordinating teams and managing projects. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preference given to candidates with experience in institutional research.
