Position Summary: The Associate Director oversees organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of research-related activities in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position reports directly to the Center Director, works independently to perform assigned duties, and interacts frequently with other senior leaders in the Cancer Center, the School of Medicine, and across the University. The Cancer Center, with more than 325 members and 1,000 FTEs, is the largest research organization within UNC Chapel Hill. This position has responsibilities for multiple aspects, including research and research program development, strategic research planning and evaluation, research training, and research infrastructure and support. The Associate Director also works with and advises the Director and other senior leaders on promotion of research interactions both within and beyond the University.
Education Requirements: Masters Degree in business, administration, policy, or other research administration relevant field or doctoral degree in medical, biomedical, public health, or other research intensive field.
Qualification and Experience: Five or more years in research, research administration, and or research training; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience with NCI-funded cancer centers a plus.
