Position Summary: The Department of Public Policy and the Curriculum in Global Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seek to fill a tenure-track assistant professor of public policy and global studies position, effective July 1, 2014. The tenure home for this position is Public Policy and the successful candidate will have an adjunct appointment in the Curriculum in Global Studies. Teaching will be distributed equally across the two units. We seek a social scientist with a demonstrated interest and a strong agenda for advanced research in the broad area of the global economy, including areas such as trade, finance, development and poverty alleviation. Preference will be given to candidates with some formal graduate economics training. The candidate will teach a core course on the Global Economy (and advise students) in the newly created MA program in Global Studies and contribute to teaching in the BA and PhD programs in Public Policy.
Education Requirements: PhD in Social Science. PhD must be completed by July 1, 2014.
