The University of Massachusetts Lowell, College of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time tenured faculty position at the rank of Full Professor to serve as the founding Department Chair. We are seeking a distinguished mid-career individual with the vision and leadership to launch the approved MS and PhD programs, recruit faculty within strategic research areas, assist with finalizing plans for new laboratory facilities, stimulate rapid growth of this new department and provide leadership in further development of research and academic programs.
Minimum Qualifications (Required): Doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences or a related field, 5 - 10 years experience in pharmaceutical sciences, minimum 5 years experience at the rank of Tenured Associate Professor, demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, scholarship and service, strong record of external funding, experience in mentoring faculty, the ability to work effectively with diverse groups, graduate level teaching experience, excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications: Previous rank of full professor at a University, experience in fostering interdisciplinary research initiatives
