The Department of English at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth seeks an assistant/advanced assistant professor, tenure track, to serve as director of the First-Year English program. Requirements: PhD in Rhetoric and Composition. Experience and research in one or more of the following areas are preferred: Writing Program Administration, Assessment of First-Year Writing, FYE Curriculum, or closely related area. Teaching responsibilities will include first-year composition and Advanced Composition, Teaching English (Classroom Methods), with opportunities to develop and teach upper-level courses in Composition, Rhetoric, and Literacy Studies. Demonstrated success in blended and online teaching is a plus. Teaching responsibilities are commensurate with administrative responsibilities and research expectations. Credit toward tenure considered for applicants with prior experience.
