The Assistant Director for International Admissions/Transfer Recruitment will be responsible for general admissions/recruiting activities and will also have a focus on the recruitment and enrollment of international students. The incumbent will assist with freshman recruitment initiatives; provide career and enrollment advising to students, conduct interviews and information sessions; service as liaison to one of the undergraduate colleges in the university, involving the college in recruitment activities; acquire and maintain demonstrated in-depth knowledge of curriculum, faculty expertise, research initiatives and opportunities for student involvement; work with the college representative to increase applications and yield of admitted students; review applications and render admissions decisions for domestic and international applicants; conduct transfer credit evaluations; assist transfer admissions and the review of courses to determine transferability. The incumbent will have a particular focus on international students, working closely with the Associate Director for International Admissions to develop and implement strategies to recruit and attract new international students to the university including arranging and attending two year college and ESL program fairs and conducting monthly visits; monitoring international prospects and applicants and implementing strategies to convert them in the admission funnel. With the Associate Director, s/he will also apply yield strategies to increase enrollment of international students and serve as a Designated School Official in preparing and monitoring SEVIS related documents. The incumbent will also serve as an agent on the office main telephone number queuing system and perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in post-secondary administration, counseling, or recruitment required. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
