Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Coordinator will manage the Recognition/Rewards and Training programs for all staff. Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for student hiring and oversee a staff of student assistants working in the areas of student staff payroll and human resource functions.
The Coordinator will have the opportunity to assist the departmental leadership in evaluation and formulation of policies, procedures and long-range plans and will contribute to the accomplishment of the department goals and initiatives.
Undergraduate Students:The Coordinator will ensure completion of Payroll and Human Resources records and documentations for The Stamp undergraduate student employees, maintain applicants for The Stamp student employment, and ensure regular contact with applicants via the student employment website.The coordinator will conduct all recruiting and initial screening of applicants for student employment. The Coordinator will maintain the Stamp employee website.The Coordinator will plan, organize and administer the department's student employment leadership and development programs, and work with the in-house expert on learning outcomes for the student employment program. In addition, the Coordinator will serve as an advocate/resource/coach for all Stamp student employees, act as adviser to the Student Employee Advisory Board and will supervise front line students working in student employment areas as assigned.
All Staff (Graduate Students, Exempt and non-Exempt):The Coordinator will organize, design and deliver reward and recognition programs, staff orientations, sexual harassment prevention, safety/risk management and other training programs. The Coordinator will verify and maintain staff credentials in the areas of CPR, IT etc.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, master degree preferred in a related field including higher education and college student personnel. Minimum two years experience required in professional development, human resources, education, student affairs or related field.
Preferences: Prefer training and development experience with young employee or student leader workforce in a University setting. The ideal candidate shall possess sound judgment, maturity, excellent communication skills and demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a diverse environment. Must demonstrate leadership skills and experience in leading project teams. Computer competency and experience with presentation software, multi-media training programs and database management software is preferred.
Salary commensurate with experience, State of Maryland benefits include tuition remission, health insurance, 22+ days of leave, and contributions to retirement.
