SR PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Job Summary This is a senior level procurement specialist that is responsible for complex and high dollar value procurements. Negotiation of cost and contractual terms and conditions is required. The individual will be responsible for the management of a team of other procurement specialists and procurement assistants; therefore, managerial/supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of IT commodities and services is also preferred. The individual will be responsible for determining the correct method of purchase, vendor selection, specification developmnet and review, issuance of bid/proposal documents, review and evaluations of received bids and proposals, issuance of order/contract, and resolution of problems associated with the purchase from cradle to grave - all of which must be accomplished in accordance with State, BOR and University policy and procedures. Coordination and communication with campus departments and vendors is crucial. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a Bachelor's degree or possession of a professional certification with 2 years of educational buying experience or 5 years of Governmental or Private Industry experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
