HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST I

Job Summary This is a professional-level HR position handling the internal functions of the Physical Plant HR and Payroll Office for a multi-faceted university division. This position focuses on safety, worker's compensation claims, risk management and injury prevention. This position works closely with DOAS case managers and participates in decisions to assist employees in obtaining the treatment necessary for recovery and return to productive work. Requires a good understanding of Employment Law, FMLA and HIPPA regulations and maintain appropriate records and confidentiality as it relates to each case. Position contributes to the DOAS Comprehensive Loss Control Program, is responsible for the preparation of the Georgia Activity Analysis for the RTW program and will assist the PPD Safety Coordinator with administration of occupational and environmental safety policy. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
