Job Description: University of Florida, Department of Pediatrics, is recruiting an Assistant/Associate Professor tenure accruing faculty member to the Division of Cellular and Molecular Therapy. This Division's focus is on translational research, preclinical models, and early phase clinical trials in gene and protein replacement therapies and stem cell-based platforms for a range of diseases affecting the pediatric population, including monogenic disorders, diabetes, and immune-deficiency states. A regulatory team and a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production facility are already in place to support early phase clinical trials. In addition, there are significant research opportunities for collaboration with the McKnight Brain Institute, the Davis Cancer Center, the Diabetes Center of Excellence, the Genetics Institute, and the Powell Gene Therapy Center here at the University of Florida College of Medicine. The duties include performing basic and applied research in AAV vector-mediated cancer gene therapy, and preparing manuscripts and grant applications.
Minimum Requirements: This position is for Ph.D. researcher with documented expertise in the use of recombinant AAV vectors and gene transfer, immune responses to AAV vectors, and documented publication record/working experience in coagulation factors/hemophilia and gene therapy.
