Job Description: The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Spanish-American Literature with a specialization in the literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in Andean, Mexican and/or Central American literature, and candidates with competence in interdisciplinary and theoretical approaches. Duties would begin Fall 2014. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, conduct research, publish actively, and provide service to the Department, College, and University. Applicants must show evidence of scholarly promise or accomplishment in relevant research areas, a commitment to teaching and student mentoring, and native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Spanish-American Literature at the time of appointment. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
