Job Description:
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida, College of Medicine – Jacksonville, is pleased to announce an opening for an experienced Psychiatrist to assist in directing our Psychiatric Residency Training Program. This position is for a full-time faculty member at the tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant/Associate Professor.
This position will report to the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.
Following is a description of duties and responsibilities:
Provide and maintain a high level of quality level of patient and inpatient consultation services in all aspects of Psychiatry.
Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Psychiatry and participate in the educational program.
Assist in directing the Psychiatric Residency Training Program.
Responsible for excellent communication with primary care physicians.
Assist in marketing the Psychiatry Program to community physicians and managed care organizations.
Participate in monthly division meeting, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
MD or equivalent.
Board Certified in Psychiatry.
Must possess or be qualified for an unrestricted physician’s medical license in Florida.
Must possess at least 2 – 3 years experience as an active faculty member in an accredited psychiatric residency program.
Possess excellent diagnostic skills and have a strong interest and commitment to teaching, service and research.
Preferred Qualificaitons:
Subspeciality fellowship training in Geriatric, Child and Adolescent or Forensic Psychiatry highly desirable.
