SENIOR FACULTY POSITION IN THERMAL-FLUID SCIENCES
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a senior faculty position tenurable at the rank of full professor in the general area of thermal-fluid sciences.
The successful candidates will teach graduate and undergraduate courses; advise M.S. and Ph.D. students; and have developed an internationally-recognized and well-funded research program. He or she will actively support the teaching and learning experiences of our students; as well as contributing through research, teaching and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience. Activities of the faculty in this position are anticipated to have direct applications in gas turbine engines, heat exchangers, and high temperature fuel cells, and the selected candidate will be a key asset in expanding our research partnerships with corporations, including GE, UTC-Pratt & Whitney, and UTAS.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates for this position must have a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong fundamental background in the areas identified or in closely related areas by the time of appointment. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable. Expertise and established research program in thermal-fluid sciences, including but not limited to heat/mass transfer and thermal modeling with high-temperature applications for design, manufacturing, and materials processing.
