Posting Description: The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking qualified applicants for a Research Associate position focused on utilizing Raman spectroscopy and microscopy for the characterization of mineral phases, dissolved gases and organic matter produced and preserved in geological, environmental and biological samples. This position will be fully internally supported for at least 2 years as part of long-term growth in Geobiology and Geochemistry underway at CU. The duties associated with this Research Associate position will involve developing chemical imaging applications within a new Raman spectroscopy facility and providing experimental assistance to scientists from diverse disciplines. The Research Associate will also have the opportunity to develop a research program including collaborative, externally-funded projects with members of the campus and regional science community.
