Posting Description: The Office of Grants and Contracts (OCG) is currently accepting applicants for a full-time, state classified Program Assistant I.
This position manages the Preaward and office reception areas and is responsible for receiving, organizing, recording, distributing and tracking a large volume of grant applications, award notices, and other requests for information and assistance. The position is responsible for assisting Preaward staff with a variety of customer issues including the enforcement of policies and procedures. The position interacts regularly with administrative unit staff, principal investigators, and sponsors as needed to resolve problems and find answers or provide guidance on how to proceed. This position implements and tracks training requirements of faculty, generates reports, provides purchasing oversight of the office and provides back-up support to other staff in the office as needed.
Examples of Work Performed: * Manages the receipt, proposal creating, tracking, handling, communication and return of grant applications, federal contract proposals and award document. * Checks training requirements for Principal Investigators (PI) and reviews HRMS training activity to ensure Principal Investigators have completed required training courses. * Determines how to handle documents/mail from outside sponsors, other entities, etc. * Oversees purchasing activities and reallocates for OGC. * Answers the main OGC phone number and must make appropriate decisions about the callers need and person who can provide assistance.

Minimum Qualifications: *Minimum Qualifications:*
Four years of general clerical or administrative service experience, which includes one year of experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
SUBSTITUTION: College, university or non-correspondence business school course work may substitute for the general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis, but not for the one year of specific experience.
Colorado law requires that candidates for state government jobs be residents of Colorado at the time of application.
