Posting Description: *Department Information:* The department of English is one of the largest departments in the College of Arts & Sciences at CU Boulder, with 52 Faculty members, and approximately 870 undergraduate majors and 130 graduate students. This position is responsible for the overall public image of the Department and to work with a "vision" for publicizing events and projects that advance that image. The position will competently use a variety of multimedia platforms with creative, technical, and professional skills. This position is located in the Office of the Chair and is a highly visible member of the Administrative staff. This position will also liaise with the Chair as an Outreach Assistant to the CU Foundations, Boulder Campus and System academic divisions/offices and the community at-large. *Job Responsibilities:* _Strategic marketing and communications_ Develop, design, oversee, and implement communication strategies which include social media, printed communication, e-communication, the department website and across an array of campus and community websites such as the CU Event Calendar, Center for Humanities and the Arts event calendar etc., to build campus and community presence and cultivate and expand English department audiences and community. Works as Graphic Designer and Project Manager for all public interactions, including marketing our events to ensure that the Department's look is consistent and appealing. Will design and implement processes for collection of data, will assume responsibility for accurate and factual review of material in conjunction with necessary stakeholders. _Outreach/Publicity Management_ Position will solicit and collect factual information to create and design innovative, eye-catching and informative event flyers, electronic and printed newsletters, for all outreach and publicity for the Department. Strategically distribute English Department Events and Programming Press Releases, working with faculty, students, etc., to achieve significant local, regional, state, and national publicity and coverage of the English Department's dynamic faculty, coursework, and scholarship. Supervise and serve as Event Manager for an array of educational programs that engage campus and community constituents including students, faculty from across numerous departments, as well as the broader public and community including educational symposia, lectures, panel discussions, etc. Maintains and organizes a database of all photos, images, logos, and all marketing materials related to past events. _Fundraising and Alumni Coordinator_ In concert with the vision of the Chair and the CU Foundation this position will lead, develop and implement strategies for alumni engagement and donor cultivation. Monitor's monthly fundraising contribution reports, maintains mailing and email database for strategic targeting of participants for various events. Create and mail thank you notes and gifts to donors and important participants. _Equipment Management_ Maintain Faculty Computer Office equipment, including, but not limited to second copier, mac and pc computers and printers for Faculty. Position will train the new Learning Management System (D2L) to offer assistance for instructional personnel. Position assists office manager by maintaining C-Cure security access and key inventory for all departmental office spaces. Position will coordinate supervision of Student Assistants, as needed, as they are providing support to this position and the main administrative office. *Salary and Benefits:* Starting annual salary $37,000. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. * One year of professional experience coordinating communication projects and/or marketing campaigns for an organization. * One year experience with website design and maintenance, which included experience with HTML. * Experience utilizing design/publishing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Word Press or comparable design tools. * Experience using social media tools (such as blogging, chats or Facebook) as a professional marketing and communication tool.

Desired Qualifications: _Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified._ * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a communications, marketing, advertising or closely related field. * At least three years of experience in producing newsletters, flyers, and reports in a professional organization. * Experience with PowerPoint, Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and/or other Adobe Creative Suite applications (with web design a huge plus). * Strong HTML skills. * Experience with recording devices (such as uploading video and audio recordings, live talks, etc.) and coordinating live chat events. * Experience working collaboratively with a variety of departments and levels of administrators/staff/students in Higher Education.
