Campus Information: The University of Colorado Colorado Springs was established in 1965. The student population of 8500 consists primarily of commuter students with campus housing available for 900 students. Doctoral degrees are offered in engineering, computer science, psychology, educational leadership, and nursing practice. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree. * Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a library circulation department. * Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience. * Experience working with the circulation module of a library automated system, preferably Innovative Interfaces Millennium or Sierra.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Circulation policies, practices, and procedures. * Supervisory policies, practices, and methods. * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. * Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. * Ability to compose documents, reports, and written correspondences using correct punctuation, grammar, and spelling. * Excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for detail-oriented work. * Experience working with the staff modules of an integrated library system. * Computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. * Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule including evening, weekends, and some holidays. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. * Experience and aptitude in providing exceptional customer service. * Ability to work cooperatively with staff in other library and university departments, collaborating in library and institutional planning, committees, task forces, and teams. * Demonstrated ability to provide relevant library services to culturally diverse patrons. * Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing and growing work environment. * Ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned or required.
Desired Qualifications: * Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited Library Science Program. * Experience processing print and electronic course reserves, and familiarity with the copyright issues related to course reserves. * Experience working with an online content management system, preferably Blackboard. * Advanced experience using the Microsoft Office Suite.
